Equiland Africana Foundation is a Civil Society Organization legally registered in Uganda. The organization envisions operationalizing land equity across Africa by promoting harmonious relationships between landlords and tenants.
Equiland advocates for secure land rights, community awareness, and sustainable land governance with special focus on vulnerable groups, including women. The organization also promotes sustainable management of land and natural resources for improved intergenerational livelihoods.
With expertise in Uganda’s land tenure systems, Equiland is particularly committed to demystifying the complexities surrounding Mailo land tenure and supporting peaceful land relations through advocacy, sensitization, and stakeholder engagement.
Over the years, Equiland has built strong partnerships with the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, multinational organizations, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), district local governments, cultural and religious institutions, technical personnel, Members of Parliament, local leaders, and communities to address land conflicts, multiple land rights, and strengthen landlord–tenant relationships for sustainable development.
